This is the best ocean based book till date. It covers all the ocean related topics without overwhelming the child. The illustrations are to die for. My child is totally in love with this book. The seller packed the book so neatly not even a single dent or any other damage. Highly recommended for all age group starting 3 years and above. Books like these are long term investments. While the toddlers can enjoy the pictures and activity based learning on the topics, children between 5-7 can deep dive into the topics. Go for it👍🏻
Bought this to use as a homeschool resource. It’s a beautiful book with great information. It’s not enciclopedia, in-depth, learn everything about the ocean type book but it’s definitely full of great information. My 6 year old has asked me to read from it everyday for 2 weeks. It’s easy for him to understand and holds his attention.
This book is set up the same as our other favorite DK book "Trees." We are doing a DIY tree curriculum, and now an ocean curriculum based solely on these books for our preschoolers. They're fun, informative, and not TOO much information for younger children. Absolutely recommend!
Done right, books on what is underwater are as magical as those based on Space. Both are vast areas full of undiscovered areas. Space may be so much bigger, but a sea is something that a child can see and touch. This 'Earth's Incredible Oceans' by DK lives up to the name and treats the oceans with a sense of awe that a non-fiction child will adore.
This book is an A4 hardback, full colour exploration of the seas. Each double spread covers a given area and will have wonderful hand drawn imagery as well as factoids that a child can read at their own speed. Although the drawings are quite realistic, the wording means that it would suit around a seven-year-old best who has a genuine interest in what happens under the water. It is the type of book that is so nice to hold and read that you may find yourself reading it with your child.

My daughters 8 and 10 absolutely love these types of books, and DK seem to do them so well. We have a few different ones in our collection and they are always beautifully illustrated and make learning new facts fun. This new addition to our collection is no exception and a beautifully presented book all about the ocean, it touches on conservation, life underwater habitats and animals which they are fascinated with. The book itself is made to a very high quality with a weighted feel, it’s hardback cover and thick Matt pages feel like this book will be around for years to come.

We have a lot of Dorling Kindersley reference books in our household and this is yet another that has gone down well, especially with my 7yr old son.
It has plenty of facts about our oceans, their various inhabitants and the environmental issues they face. It it’s well pitched for primary aged children, but would also be enjoyed by an older child who has an interest in marine life. My two eldest children (7 and 4.5) have enjoyed looking at it and they (and I!) have learnt a lot.
The author, Jess French, is a children’s tv presenter and vet. She has also written many books on the theme of animals and the environment. This is her latest offering and I will be looking out for her future publications given the quality of this one.
