To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Every time I write a book review, I try to put in what I love the most about the story, the characters, the writing, etc. But sometimes, I face a very interesting dilemma - when I love everything about a book so so so much that I just can't figure out how to put all my thoughts about it into words!
And that's exactly why it's take me so long to write the review for Shilpa Suraj's latest - 'Twilight's Temptation' even though I finished reading about a week ago. It's just a pure head rush (in the best way possible!) from start to finish - the love story of Diana the supermodel and Manav the super photographer. They're stars in their own fields, but when their paths collide as often as they do considering they are in related professions, the flame burns slowly and steadily until they are ready to create a starry world for themselves.
Shilpa weaves together an interesting, almost-Bollywoodish (in the best way possible) plot that has everything from a Goan holiday to a hospital visit, from a wedding party to explosive family drama in a wonderful manner. This really all leads up to one conclusion - when you fall in love with a person, you also take on the onus of the mental, physical and emotional baggage that they carry with them at all times and you must be prepared to handle that at all times - exactly like Manav and Diana do.
The writing is crisp and exciting - at times, it makes you want to turn the pages swiftly to see how the couple get over the latest roadblocks in their relationship and at others, makes you want to slow down to slowly savour all the emotion behind the poignant language.
All the characters in the series make an appearance in this book and have pivotal roles to play in the story - Shilpa brings out the friendship angle and the strong bond the six of them share wonderfully. But ultimately, it is Manav and Diana who keep you hooked - he brooding, charming and loyal, she sexy, sophisticated and warm. Individually - they are stars, but together, they shine brighter.
Twilight temptation by Shilpa Suraj is full of emotions and love. Shilpa's writing is so damn addictive that you can't just stop reading one. I can read her books as many times as I can. She has such an amazing writing skills that every book of hers has made me read it in one go and temptation is added to it too. What an amazing plot. Manav the handsome hunk photographer, dark, deep and intense profile. Whereas Diana full of colours, party girl and bright. Manav has bagage of past and Diana is a ray of hope for him. To read their journey with so many problems, past, differences and to relish their love, hot and lovely chemistry you need to read the book yourself. Trust me you will fall in love with them. So go for it guys. Highly recommended. And yes waiting for sehar and Rishi's story. Please bring it on soon ☺️
Manav and Diana’s love story has the right amount of passion to make your heart beat a little faster, and the perfect amount of angst to make you go aww. Shilpa brings them alive on the pages so well that you don’t want the story to end. Twilight’s Temptation is one of the best enemies to lovers story I’ve read! I thought she had outdone herself with Dev and Avni's story, book 1 of this series, but there was something about Manav that tugged at me from the time I read about him in book 1. His dedication to his family and his big heart notwithstanding, he can be a bit myopic when it comes to the girl he loves. Diana is not perfect but she's perfect for him and that's what makes this story so wonderful. I enjoyed how Shilpa let the story unfold and brought it to it's right conclusion. This one is one of my favourites!
Being a fan of all her earlier works, I knew this was bound to be another amazing story from Shilpa and wasn’t disappointed. She had already set the things in motion with the first book in the series and Twilight’s Temptation is a befitting conclusion to Manav and Diana’s tale of finding love. It has all the emotions in the right dose, be it the passion, or the familial emotions that formed the background and an insight into why Manav is how he is. All in all, a page turner and yet another which is unputdownable!
Sometimes you read a romance novel and wonder why a character would be so ridiculous over love. But Manav and Diana’s story isn’t self-destructive or hard to fathom.I love how real they are and their problems are neither romanticized nor made trivial. The relationship between Manav and Diana goes though a very natural cadency that doesn’t seem forced. I love every other character in this book too and can’t wait for Book 3 to come out.
When you pick up one of Shilpa's books you're sure to have a goofy smile plastered on your face for most part of the book. And Twilight Temptation has all the works for an exciting read. Manav and Diana are pole apart and yet they compliment each other beautifully. Drama, comedy, romance, love the story has it all and much more. Will Manav overcome his personal problems and accept his love for Daina? Will Diana be able to convince Manav to fight for their love? If you seek these answers. You have gotta read this book. Romance lovers this story is sure to give you all the warm and tingly feelings.
Manav & Diana's passionate and unconditional love for each other regardless their diffrences in social and family background is Must Read. Their Love Story is superb because it contains all the aspects like unconditional support, care and possessive love for each other. Another thing which I like is the Sibling's Bond. Must Read... Eagerly waiting for your next Book...
Shilpa Suraj is a very talented author with an amazing sense of humor in her books and an even exhaustive vocabulary. I have read almost all of her books. The characters in her novels are etched very beautifully. As all of her previous books I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as well. Looking forward to the third installment in this series🙂
An amazing novel with full of reality, family drama, romance& passion. I couldn't put down until I finish the book. Other than passionate love stories I loved the flashback of Dev and Manav. They were so intense, righteous and i loved the way how the protagonists stood up against domestic violence, fraud & child sexual abuse. May be shilpa mam should try a spin off as a short story for the flashback alone. Loved it!
