This book has been great for our girls! It’s a great book for older kids, but my 4 year old also loves it and seems to better understand that we aren’t the only family missing daddy. It does a great job helping us to understand our feelings, it even made me a bit emotional the 1st time we read it together.

Dad comes home with PTSD? This is one of the few books I’ve found that talks about homecoming not being always easy. I really liked that idea. The analogy of the puzzle pieces was spot on. Really loved the first half. However, I think this went into way too much detail. I wasn’t comfortable reading this to my daughter. Might only be a good book if things are hard upon the soldiers return?
