A delightful book which uses repetition and colourful illustrations to keep children engaged who will be keen to learn how duck gets unstuck It would work well as an animation but works well as a read aloud book as well.
This is a delightful book for new readers with a fun and repetitive story line, that children will enjoy reading. The illustrations are absolutely perfect for the story. The literacy activities are an added bonus. Highly recommended.
Stuck Duck is such a cute book, and a great easy reader for those beginning their journey into reading alone.
The book starts with Duck enjoying his day, but an unfortunate incident with a horn happens. He gets help from various animals, and Duck's emotions range from happy, to mad, to sad. Can anyone help Duck? Get this book and find out!!
This early reader is very cute and fun to read. Other early readers are very choppy and left with barely a story. Not this one! There's such a nice flow to it, and children should easily be able to follow along. The story shows a range of emotions, which children will be able to relate to, as well as how to help a friend in need. Even better, the book has multiple Literacy resources and activity pages at the end.
If you have a child in your life who is just starting to read, you'll want to add this to their library. This book is fun, cute, easy to read, and has adorable illustrations. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this one!
Duck is having a good day. He finds a flower that he takes with him on his walk. Unfortunately, a horn drops out of a tree and gets stuck on his head. He has several helpers who try to help, but they cannot free him. See what it takes to turn his now very bad day back into a good one.
This is a great reinforcement of the idea that we should not give up just because something is difficult.
This book is perfect for early readers. It has an engaging storyline and simultaneously reinforces high frequency words. Children will enjoy this sweet story, and will be happy with the ending. High interest books are important for early readers so that they can enjoy the story along with practicing their reading. The activities found at the end are wonderful as well.
When my kiddos were first learning to read, books like these were hard to come by. Sure, there are a lot of early readers out there, but many of them either (a) casually throw in words that absolutely frustrate a beginning reader or (b) don’t have an engaging (or even logical) storyline. I only found a handful of books that my kids really enjoyed reading and also were able to grow from at this stage. This book would have been absolutely perfect for them, and I’m sad it wasn’t around a few years ago! I absolutely recommend it to anyone to anyone with a kiddo who is learning to read!
