Dawn’s Desire, the third book in the “Shades Of The Night Trilogy”, is Rishi and Sehar’s story. Rishi and Sehar have a past together. A past that is hidden from others but one that has left an indelible mark on both of them. A night of rebellion full of passion becomes a night that changes the course of their lives. It becomes a night both of them cannot forget. As their friends Anvi/Dev and Manav/Diana fall in love to become couples, Rishi and Sehar stand on the sidelines, battling their emotions and feelings for each other. Will Rishi and Sehar get a second chance at their happily ever after? Rishi is brawny and bulky who does MMA to get through the anger in his life. And yet, by nature, he is gentle and loving, giving truth to the adage appearances can be deceiving. Rishi in a subtle way also shows brawn is not the only marker for masculinity. One needs to be sensitive and attuned to one’s emotions as well. Sehar is the quintessential modern Indian woman. She loves her family but refuses to compromise on her happiness for the sake of keeping face in society. Sehar is a self-made independent woman. Her words, “I’d rather the world sees me as I am, scars, rips and all, than huddle against a man, any man and hide“, hit straight home. One would think that such a passionate, intense story might get too serious. However, the author keeps introducing chuckle-worthy moments to lighten the mood. (psst, check out the reference to vada-pav in the book). Shilpa Suraj has this habit of twisting sentences, her word-play can make you chuckle, sigh, sob, as well as, think. Rishi and Sehar burrow their way in the reader’s heart. A reader is totally invested in both of them, hoping and waiting for them to get together. Dawn’s Desire is one of the most emotional and passionate stories I have read from Shilpa Suraj.
This story made me angry and had me rooting for Seher throughout. Rishi is kind, wonderful and wants to be there but he thinks he knows what's best for him. . I really enjoyed the relationship of Rishi and his father and how somewhere towards the end Rishi's flaws do come out.The three friends stick together and this is what strikes me the most in SHADES OF NIGHT that apart from the main couple there are other relationships that are written about and in one of the books explored at a much larger scale.Rishi and Seher together as a couple are strong in their own right and besides struggling in other parts of their lives, there is so much that the author and story says about them. The vocal Seher and the kind Rishi are in it from a very sweet and sour place which once you start reading you will realise the decisions they take in their lives. Pick this one if you already haven't.
A story that deals with two incomplete people and their journey towards their togetherness. Both are head strong, practical and have their own reasons for their behavior . Both never expected to fall for each other yet fell irrevocably. Now both are fighting with themselves to avoid a heartbreak.
The 3rd book of the series brings you story of Sehar and Rishi who were already a part of the group and story since the first one. Being in sidelines the author had given a glimpse of their personalities and connection with the other couples Manav Diana and Anvi/ Dev.
But unaware of their friends also they have had a chemistry, a past they have hidden from all. A past that threatens to come in present. How will they stop themselves from falling in love? What is Sehar hiding? Will their love be able to survive the test of time and challenges? Read the book to find out.
Amazing storyline, brilliant narration and a good continuity. The author binds all the characters and weave beautiful stories around them each a little better than the previous. Each character has flaws and how they overcome to give each other another chance is what the book is all about.
It's the third instalment of the Shades of Night series, however, you can read this book as a standalone novel.
It's my first book by the author and I connected with the engaging writing style. The story has several twists and turns that keep you hooked. There's a mild dose of humour, which seems effortless and makes the read entertaining.
Overall, it was an engaging and entertaining read.
Finally got to read the story of Seher and Rishi. Was waiting for the most hilarious moments in the book along with the beautiful bond between all of them, their love, support and trust for each other. Its a treat to read. Worth the time invested.
Dawn's Desire- Shilpa Suraj's latest book in the shades of night series is another second chance romance which is beautifully penned by the author....
Rishi and Sehar's camaraderie always intrigued me and Shilpa has done full justice to the characters after creating a bit of a suspense in the earlier stories
Shilpa's writing carries a bit of humour here and there which is always the highlight for me...I m sure gonna think of my lungs and intestines the next time I have a coughing fit🤣🤣 if you wanna know why, just go ahead and read the book
This story depicts clearly different kind of hardships a person faces despite having all material assets. The chemistry between the lead pair was refreshing. It was a different take all together. Keep them coming. Kudos
The much-awaited Dawn's Desire brings the story of Sehar and Rishi, protagonists who were always there in the background of the previous two books, but whose back story we didn't know. Sehar and Rishi make an interesting couple, but it's clear that they belong with each other from the very beginning. Shilpa writes with a lot of empathy and this book is the perfect culmination to the series.
I just loved this story of Rishi & Sehar. I found it emotional as well as Lovingly Romantic. The way their relationship goes with ups and downs and still have a constant caring love connection for each other. I found one more thing very interesting is Rishi's character(coz my husband is also a lawyer and loved MMA like Boxing). Loved this series very much. Must Read...!!!
