Finished another finest work by one finest author of India and My favourite . 260 leafs book , revolves around the life of Diksha who is narrating her story . She was 16 when she was caught kissing 💋 a guy and because of belonging to conservative family , she was forced for early marriage at very young age of 19 . & 15 years later , when Diksha was acting as perfect wife and Mom , events unfold in a manner which changes her life . She visited her Cousin's place after demise of Her cousin's husband where she made her Secret Wishlist and So did her cousin ,Vibha , dictates her that she'll do everything possible to fulfil Diksha's wish list . At same time , Diksha got in contact with her school friend Tanu via social networking website , and through Tanu , she met Ankit , Guy she kissed years ago and still have feelings for him . Ankit on same side was desperate to get in touch with her . THE SECRET WISHLIST is a masterpiece which highlights the drawbacks of our society . Way the girls were forced into early Marriage . Author had successfully depict that Many woman married are just treated as sex toys . There are families in which role of woman is limited to raising kids , A bed partner and a doormat of their husband , its a bitter reality of our society .PS also shows some very great character like Gaurav and Diksha's MIL With modern Thinking . Out of all , My Fav Abhay , A young devil ,intelligent and loyal to his mom . Its a MUST READ . If you have balance ,Buy the Book 📚 and if not then just Steal it 😂 But do give a read .

The best thing I liked about this book is that it has opened the views of feminism. I really liked the of how wives must never be suppresed by their husbands, which has been clearly justified by Diksha( the protagonist)

I can recommend this book to the ones who have just settled in the world of reading.

I chose this rating because of it's feminism views. I clearly believe that India must adopt certain rights for women. Thank you!

It puts all the typical scenarios that "young" Indian women face in such a surreal n agile manner that one could not just take one's eyes off the novel until was over.
Loved it. It is especially a good read for those in their 20s or early 30s. Teaches a lot. Go for it 👍🏼

Very cheap. I am not going to read Preeti Shenoy novels henceforth. Even, one star is more than enough. Disappointed.

An open letter to Preeti.

See Preeti,
I was a corporate woman and I left my job six years ago because I wanted to be with my three years old baby. He is nine years old too like the kid in your story. My husband is always neck deep in work and many husbands like mine work hard to secure future of their family. What's wrong with that? And moreover,Diksha found it was frustrating to care for her child as well. I believe, doing everything for your own flesh and blood can never be a sacrifice.I am also a mother and I don't think I sacrificed my career for my child.

I keep myself busy with creative hobbies and don't even watch soaps. In your story Diksha did not do anything for her identity. She left her husband when she got the support of a wealthy man. What is this? What kind of message are you spreading in the society. Moreover, how could a mother leave her nine years old son with her mother in law, taking advantage of her blind faith and herself sleeping with another man? What rubbish!!! And a nine years old is not big enough to take care of himself. She left her child with her mother in law and went out of country with another man that too when her husband was not there. What if something had happened to the child when both mom and dad are out of country. When my husband is out of station or too busy with his commitment s I make sure I spend maximum time with my nine years old unlike Diksha. Her only concern is,she was being neglected. What about her son's loneliness. Very, very selfish character. Even one star for this book is more than enough.

Ps: Preeti,I have no grudges against you but I am very disappointed. By the time I reached the mid of the book,I was enjoying it,wanted to recommend it but later it disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting story of a woman

A very interesting story that would keep you captivated. You would relate to Diksha as a person, woman, wife and mother and what all she has suffered during her life.
The author has subtly touched many soft issues that are still prevalent in the country. While there is a lot of despair in the story, there is also a lot of hope.
In the end you need to stand up and own your secret wish list too.

Preethi shenoy had very good story telling skills. Even though it's a predictable story, she has written it well. I read many negative reviews from guys abt this book. If u treat women cheaply without attention, this is what u get. If u r confident enough that u treat ur women in good way, u wouldn't say this book is not good. Women should have courage like how it is mentioned in this book and speak up. It's never too late. I have rated 3 stars bcos there are some parts wer it gets really boring and I skipped. Salsa class and the trip to Maldives were dragged and unnecessary during that situation in the story. But overall a very nice book. Should gift this to women who are struggling in such married lives.
