This books include detailed itinerary of Great Britain. It includes good liste of places to see and stuff to do.
I bought it to explore Britain outside of London. I have been living in London for 7 years and I have flown more in out of the country than explore what’s available around. I bought this book to organise couple of day trips in the area and some long distance ones. I must say it’s good guide for that. It marks the top attraction, places to eat and stuff to see.
My only negative comment would be, it seriously lacks photos. If you are like me a more visual person, you have to Google every single place and attraction.
There are plenty of slim, colorful travel guides out there which cater to travelers needing a quick look at the top ten attractions, and just enough information to get to those attractions and back. However, some enterprising travelers want a more in depth experience, and more information up front about their destinations. For those travelers, there is lonely planet, and their guide to Great Britain.
This guide covers England, Wales, and Scotland in a fair amount of detail while still being relatively portable. Britain has a stunning amount of scenic country, and more above-ground history than you might imagine. This guide gives a good sense of flavor and lots of choices. The book is heavy on text, with a practical and helpful mixture of maps, pictures and graphics. Well recommended for the first time visitor to Great Britain.
The book is perfect for those who are planning for their 1st trip to the UK, but also great for people like me who havent been back there for 10+ years. Lots of information with beautiful pictures. The book was nicely packed and arrived on time.
